While the digital nomad loves the tech toys that make the lifestyle happen, today’s digital nomad also has got to be decked out in the high tech fashion that makes it possible to tote and tuck away all the gear in style.
Enter SCOTTEVEST,
a growing collection of apparel engineered just for people who are on the go and want to take all their tech toys with them. It’s really a new category of clothing though, called Technology Enabled Clothing (TEC)
Most of the garments are outfitted with pockets everywhere. Yet, somehow they don’t make you look like a pack mule even loaded down as I am want to be with iPhone, iPod, Kindle, New York Times, sunglasses, keys, moleskin notebook and all the chargers and cords unique to each.
Most of the jackets and pullovers are outfitted with what SCOTTEVEST calls “Personal Area Network” – really just a fancy name for a system of holes, loops and pouches that allow you to run cords through your coat, but it sure works.
And in the words of SCOTTEVEST founder Scott Jordan . . .
“I created SCOTTEVEST/SeV® to solve a very common problem: I needed a way to carry and organize all my gadgets and gear. I am a gadget guy, but I had no way to carry them. My devices were all over the place, making it difficult to remember where I left them. I was regularly doing the gadget dance… you know that freak-out moment patting all your pockets trying to remember where you put your cellphone, etc.”
And this how most great innovations are created?
I go through airport security more often than I would like to admit and instead of emptying pockets I just toss my coat in a bin and glide through.
Start off with the Essential Coat in Black and in no time you’ll need every weight of fleece to go with it.

If a picture is worth a 1,000 words then this photo is worth 4 words “this is a jacket” photo too dark, does not show where gadgets go etc.
by John Jantsch / September 6, 2008
Jerry - yes, that picture is a bit dark, try clicking on one of those green text looking things called Hyperlinks and go get all the views of where to put your gadgets that you like.
