I caught up with Jake McKee of Ant’s Eye View (shot on The Flip camera in low-light conditions) at the TechCrunch Meet-up that took place last night in Austin and we chatted about the challenges of being a nomad.

As you may remember, Jake wrote a post for Digital Nomads awhile back on the challenges of ‘baggage’ while traveling. Jake’s working on another post that will appear here on Digital Nomads on his new Amazon Kindle that he recently bought and has been using. He loves it and would highly suggest it for those who love to read and travel frequently. But hold on Amazon folks, he does have a few minor suggestions about the product that you might consider — but loves it overall.

He also comments on the growing presence of Web-based start-ups in places like Austin. Some of those companies are Spiceworks, Jamsbio, OneSpot and Nomee — take a look at them and let us know what you think. Jake also talked to me off-camera about another project he’s working on called Connected By Distance, a collection of stories that showcase the power of communities. If you’ve got a story to add, head over there and contribute.
