Big Think recently interviewed securities analyst turned entrepreneur-journalist Henry Blodgett. We asked him to describe how he founded his popular blog, Silicon Alley Insider. “A friend of mine in New York, Kevin Ryan, who was then the CEO of Doubleclick, had an idea to start a site focused on New York and it seemed like a great opportunity,” he said. “Shortly thereafter we realized it was going to be much broader and we started to focus on the whole industry.”

In the interview, Blodgett talks about how much technology, and especially new mobilizing devices, are changing journalism and the media industry. Healso talks about the importance of being able to work anywhere, anytime, as well as the advantages of online collaboration. It’s an insightful look at how technology is impacting our lives every day.

This interview is part of a series on BigThink, sponsored by Dell and Digital Nomads.

Looks like this whole site is actually a Dell Ad disguised as an amateur blog.

Great interview - I’d love to see the full clip and hear him go into more depth the forces pushing for and against a paperless office.

Sometimes I think Blodgett’s perspective is more Valley than Alley…
